What is the new look for kitchens in 2026?

Warm and quiet. Warm wood and warm neutral cabinetry has displaced cool grey and stark white, and the floor is expected to carry that warmth through. Large-format tile and wide plank in honey or mid-brown tones are common, matte finishes dominate, and the floor increasingly runs continuously from the kitchen into the adjoining living space rather than stopping at a threshold. From a flooring point of view, the practical change is that fewer people want a separate tile zone marooned in the middle of an open floor.
