Product construction, wear layer, joint profile and installation method still vary, so “vinyl” is not one specification. Tile relies on a stable assembly, a planned layout and suitable setting materials. Carpet combines pile, backing and underpad into one installed system.
Epoxy requires a different vocabulary. Concrete profile, moisture, repairs, primer, build coats, flakes or pigments, and topcoat all affect the system. A quick coating over an unprepared slab is not the same scope as a mechanically prepared installation.
