Question No. 15 1 min read

What colour floors are in for 2026?

Warm neutrals. Honey oak, caramel, soft wheat, light cream and warm sand are what builders are specifying and buyers are asking for. Where grey survives it has warmed into greige, a grey-brown blend rather than the cool flat greys of a few years ago. Very dark floors and strongly red-toned woods such as cherry, mahogany and orange-leaning red oak stains are the ones people are moving away from. Dark floors also show dust and pet hair badly, which in daily life matters more than the trend does.
